Michael helps companies build the leadership and organizational capabilities to succeed and thrive in the digital economy. His work on the five disciplines of agile organizations was recently voted one of the top ideas by a global community of business leaders convened by McKinsey & Company, Inc.

Since the emergence of the digital economy, Michael has helped corporate, business and functional leadership teams at over 180 companies accelerate growth, profitability and value. Through powerful “learning-doing” workshops, coaching and initiatives, he enables leaders to develop new mindsets and skillsets, uncover the true root causes of current performance, and design the organizational strategies, architecture and culture needed for high performance. The impact? Creating more value for all stakeholders, unleashing the full potential of the organization, and accelerating financial and operating results.

In addition to his extensive work with clients, Michael cultivates a growing community of agile organization champions and practitioners in collaboration with world-class alliance partners. These include McKinsey, the world's premier consulting firm, The Ken Blanchard Companies, a global leadership development firm, and Umbrex, a global network of highly skilled independent professionals previously with McKinsey, Bain, BCG and other top-tier firms.

Michael's entrepreneurial consulting career has included strategy consulting with McKinsey, leading a strategic consulting practice at Blanchard, and founding and building three consulting firms, most recently Blue Mine Group. Michael has also served on the boards of several non-profits. He is an ATD Master Instructional Designer, and holds bachelor of commerce and master of business administration degrees from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa.
